Rapha women’s 100 is an event created by Rapha clothing with the aim of bringing thousands of women together globally to ride 100km on the same date. The ride is not geared towards competition, but to bring a community of women together from around the world to share an adventure.
The brand was created in celebration of all things road riding, to develop stylish clothing and accessories for riders. Rapha Racing Ltd launched in 2004 and started from small beginnings of creating roadwear and accessories going on to writing publications, running events, team sponsorship and creating films in the celebration of road riding.
Rapha Women’s 100 want to empower women to get out and ride as part of a community initiative. In the lead up to the event women can discuss their training, thoughts and experiences to connect with other riders. Riders have an opportunity to sign up to the event on Strava and all riders will receive a Rapha Women’s 100 digital finisher badge for their dashboard. In the lead up to the event Rapha utilize social media for riders all over the globe to connect and document their journey as well as events to get out and meet new people. Women have the opportunity to join a ride, or register a 100 km (62 mile) ride of their own. The 2013 event was held on 7 July with thousands of women all over the globe taking part.
